Golden milk is an Indian drink made with milk and turmeric, which gives it the yellow color.
It is known for its many health benefits, and I particularly like to start drinking it when the fall knocks the door. It boosts immunity and is a great antioxidant. I will make a blog post about all its nutritional benefits soon.
This drink is perfect to have in the evening, when you feel like having something sweet, just go for the golden milk. It will also help your body relax for bed time.
Here is the recipe:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk you like)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp raw honey or maple syrup
¼ tsp ground turmeric
1/8 tsp grated ginger
Tiny bit of black pepper
1 tsp almond butter (if you want it creamier)
Warm up the milk in a pan, do not let it boil. Add the spices, leaving the honey for last. Mix well.
When warm enough, turn off the fire, add the honey and enjoy!
